Perl/Python Engineer For Prestigious Bank

One of our best clients is a core technology team that works within the confines of a trading unit at a well-known investment bank. This team is responsible for assembling an entire suite of proprietary applications and analytical tools that serve as the technological underpinning of this influential unit, with sub-groups within this team tackling each discrete area of the software development lifecycle. The sub-group that is most keen to hire is focused on infrastructure issues and software build, the process of transforming the lines of code created by the other sub-groups into usable applications that can be deployed to the traders and quantitative analysts in this area of the firm.

While some tech teams would utilize out-of-the-box build automation software, this group creates their own proprietary tools, generally relying on Python and Perl scripting. Ideal candidates for this role generally have outstanding programming skills with one of these languages in addition to good understanding of compilers, sockets, and Unix and/or Windows runtime environments. This is a highly-visible role, and senior members of this team earn multiple six-figure compensation packages.
