Jr Trader For Prop Trading Firm (Non Experienced)

Successful high frequency prop trading firm seeks candidates for their trading apprentice program. ONLY seeking candidates directly from school.

Trading Associates participate in a “hands-on” apprentice program with one or several traders. They participate in an intense, “boot camp” training program and are given job duties designed to fulfill the business needs of the company and provide education about how markets function and our trading hypotheses. These duties may include:

- Research projects on Market Microstructure
- Mathematical Models or Statistical Studies to assist with the creation and operating of trading algorithms
- Detailed study of trading strategy log files in order to analyze unusual trading events, profits, or losses
- Real-time and End of Day Risk Management – helping to detect and deal with problems in constantly evolving, highly automated trading systems
- Compile reports on profit and loss and other statistics for the trading strategies, complete financial reconciliations between firm and third parties such as clearing entities and exchanges

Candidates who demonstrate high levels of performance at these tasks will rapidly transition into a role as a part-time or full-time trader, responsible for identifying, configuring, analyzing and setting parameters for algorithmic, model driven trading algorithms in real-time. This transition could occur within a matter of months from the hire’s initial start date or might take longer, depending on the needs of the firm and the associate’s learning curve.

Job Requirements:

- Candidates should be extremely bright, with aptitude demonstrated either through top scores on standardized tests, and a degree from a TOP school in Math, Physics, CS or Engineering
- Candidate should possess very strong quantitative, analytic, and mathematical skills
- Candidates should be of high character and hard working
- Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel/VBA or able to learn quickly
- Programming experience is not a prerequisite but is a plus
