Test Engineer For Prestigious Investment Bank

Our client is a major Wall Street investment bank that has long prided itself on creating proprietary applications and programming languages by way of a core development team which is located within the confines of one of its most profitable business units. This in-house technology is routinely recognized by those within and without the firm as being one of the most crucial factors in their continued success. As this group of crackerjack technologists has grown, so has the need for the firm's core development team to have an equally-skilled group of test engineers to help design, create, and implement automated test cases for the highly-complex technology that is the underpinning of their business efforts.

While in essence this is a QA-flavored position, it bears little resemblance to a typical quality assurance post. Members of this team will be living and breathing on the front-lines, working hand-in-hand with members of the core development team or even sitting on a trading desk in order to better understand the business-leanings of the technologies they'll be testing. Ideal candidates will possess a true passion for test engineering, and have bona fide experience designing custom tools using object-oriented programming and/or scripting languages. Candidates must also possess solid communication skills (verbal and written) and be equipped to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace. The ability to self-manage projects and a strong quantitative background (physics, mathematics, computational finance, etc) are both significant pluses.
