Sr. Java Developer For Award Winning FX Firm

My client is the leading multi-bank foreign exchange trading firm, which has developed an award winning trading platform. Currently, they are seeking high energy, motivated and extremely technical Sr. Developers to work on low latency, high frequency trading systems for the foreign exchange markets.

Background:
• 3+ years experience with the following: core Java programming, Java sockets and threading, messaging; FIX server‐side experience;
•5+ years software engineering experience, including experience building business critical, high‐performance servers; at least 2 years in financial services area; preferable experience in building systems to distribute high volume Market Data with low latency to a large number of consumers.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or other related degree; Masters strongly preferred.

Required Skills:
•Domain knowledge in Financial Systems: Market Data, Exchange connectivity, Bank trading APIs and/or FIX
• Familiar with electronic trading in one or more of the following markets: FX, Equity, Fixed Income or Commodities

Software development
• Core Java programming v1.5 or above
• Very strong JAVA Multi‐Threading, concurrent processing, and sockets
programming skills
• Experience in debugging high volume low‐latency systems
• Practical usage of Spring

Personal
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent team player; effective partner across the organization
• Strong problem solving skills; self‐starter

Experience with the following a plus:
• GemFire, FIX Protocol:
• Profiling and performance tools such as JProbe, DTrace, SystemTap, etc.
• Java 5/6, Java RT
