Outstanding Coder For Prestigious Banking Firm
Our client is a prestigious Wall Street investment banking firm with a long track-record of success and a reputation for hiring some of the best and brightest around. While most financial organizations have developed an internal structure where a given research and development team will support a particular line of business, this firm decided to do things a little differently, and instead established one centralized group that would support multiple lines of business. This puts members of the group in a great position to receive a broad exposure to a wide range of financial instruments, rather then being confined to only one little sliver of the marketplace.
The search that we are currently working on for this firm is a perfect example of this broad exposure. They are currently in need of a strong developer to help them in two ways: to build front-office trading systems for a variety of products (fixed income, fx, commodities and equities to name a few), and to help build the proprietary tools used to analyze the financial markets. These products are literally the technological underpinning that this group relies on for its day-to-day tasks, as traders and quants alike depend on these products to do their daily work.
Interestingly enough, prior finance experience is not necessary to be considered for this role. Superior coding skills, excellent communication capabilities, and a desire to work hard with a group of high-caliber people are what matter most. Ideal candidates will have solid development experience in C++ (experience on both Unix and Windows preferred), an advanced degree from an elite college or university, and a track record of success in their current career.
